Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT)
You can customize the QAT in Word (and any Microsoft Office application). The steps are the same to add or remove items from the QAT and there are a couple of methods that you can use.
Method 1
To remove an item from the QAT, right-click on the button and choose “Remove from Quick Access Toolbar"
To add an item to the QAT from one of the ribbons, right-click on the item on the Ribbon and choose “Add to Quick Access Toolbar”.
Method 2
If the button you want to turn on/off is in the list that appears, click on the item to toggle it on or off. If the item you want to add is not in the list, click More Commands
If the item you want to add is in the “Popular Commands Group”, simply double-click the item to add it to the QAT.
If the item you want to add is not in the “Popular Commands Group”, click the drop-down arrow next to Popular Commands and choose another category. The “All Commands” category will display all available commands.
Double-click on the command to add it to the QAT. If you want to change the order of the items on the QAT, click on the item you want to move in the right-hand column and use the up and down triangles to the right of the QAT commands to re-order the list. Click OK when finished.
